Swearing In Ceremony
Stephen is officially sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Kitchener Centre in Canada's 40th Parliament.
Mennonite Central Committee
Mr. Stephen Woodworth, Member of Parliament for Kitchener Centre, in the company of Ms. Michelle Brenneman, Circles of Care Coordinator, and Mr. Rick Cober Bauman, Executive Director, Mennonite Central Committee, following the announcement of funding to the Mennonite Central Committee to assist seniors.
Anti Coalition Rally
On December 6, 2008 a rally was held in opposition to the Liberal NDP coalition supported by the Bloc Québécois.
Kitchener Walterloo Symphony Announcement
On March 7, 2009 Stephen was joined by Executive Director Genevieve Twomey, Music Director Edwin Outwater and Member of Parliament Harold Albrecht for a funding announcement to the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. The funding totalling $89,000 will support the Open Ears Festival and the purchase of an integrated donor services and ticketing system. Photos courtesy of CTV.
German Memorial
Fellow Parliamentarians Harold Albrecht, Kitchener Conestoga and Peter Braid, Kitchener-Waterloo joined Stephen on November 17 at the German Memorial to remember soldiers who passed away in Canada during the First and Second World Wars.
Chinese New Year
On February 7, 2009 Stephen joined the festivities at Forbes Hall to welcome the Chinese New Year.

Celebrate Me Home - A Hero's Welcome Home Gala
Celebrate Me Home - A Hero's Welcome Home Gala was hosted by the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada and was a celebration of the safe return of serving members of our communities. His Royal Highness Prince Andrew the Duke of York is the Colonel-In-Chief of the Regiment and was a special guest at the Gala. After inspecting the guard the Prince spoke to upwards of 1000 guests, including military personnel and residents of the area.
Gas Tax Funding
Stephen with MPs Harold Albrecht and Peter Braid announced the federal Gas Tax transfers to the provinces and municipalities will be doubled April 1, 2009, and will provide a total of $2 billion per year for municipalities to invest in projects like new roads, water treatment plants, improved buses and transit systems, as well as better sewers and bridges.
Ontario Student Debating Union Provincial Finals
Stephen welcomed the participants, the organizers and everyone accompanying them to Kitchener for a week-end of debating. He acted a judge at the final debate.
Biz Pal Launch
Biz Pal is a new online business permit and license service that saves time spent on paperwork and helps entrepreneurs start up faster. Stephen was joined by MPs Harold Albrecht and Peter Braid, Ken Seiling, Chair of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Doug Craig, Mayor of Cambridge, Carl Zehr, Mayor of Kitchener and Ross Kelterborn, Mayor of the Township of Wellesley.
Armenian Genocide Commemoration on Parliament Hill
April 24, 2009 marked the 94th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Armenians all over the world, including Canadians of Armenian descent commemorate this day. Stephen joined a number of Members of Parliament and dignitaries on the front steps of Parliament Hill for a commemoration service.
Kitchener Students on Parliament Hill
Every year thousands of students from all over the world visit Parliament Hill. Stephen had an opportunity to chat with a group of Kitchener students after their visit.
Sunnyside Supportive Housing
The Sunnyside Supportive Housing and Seniors Wellness Centre is a $9.7 million housing complex that will be the first of its kind in Waterloo Region. The Project launch was celebrated on April 17, 2009. The Government of Canada contributed more than $400,000. through the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program.
New Citizens Meet and Greet
Stephen held a meet and greet for new Canadian citizens that had recently taken their oath of citizenship.

Stephen hosted a BBQ to show his appreciation for the many volunteers who spent their time and energy helping him win the 2008 election.
Downtown Kitchener Revitalization Project
On September 4, 2009 Stephen announced a Government of Canada contribution of $1,230,200.00 towards the revitalization of Kitchener's downtown core. The funding is from the Community Adjustment Fund in Southern Ontario.

Statue Dedication at Regional Police Headquarters
Residential Energy Efficiency Program Annoucement
Stephen was joined by Paul Parker, REEP Board of Directors, MLA John Milloy, Regional Chair Ken Seiling, REEP Executive Director Mary Jane Patterson and REEP Outreach Coordinator Julian van Mossel for an announcement, on behalf of the Government of Canada. Stephen announced a contribution of $264,500. to REEP House, through the Community Adjustment Fund, to transform two century homes into models of energy and water efficiency.

Minds in Motion - Kitchener Waterloo Walking Classic
Stephen participated in the 5 KM Walking Classic. He finished 2nd in his class and 36th overall.
Remembrance Day - 2009
Taking a Lesson from Fitz the Whip
Stephen couldn't pass up the opportunity to go a round or two with Fitz the Whip Vanderpool. During his successful boxing career Fitz won five professional titles including the World Boxing Federation's Super Walterweight World Championship. Fitz now operates The Whip Boxing Academy and invited Stephen for a tour.

Anselma House Announcement at Groundbreaking
Stephen, on behalf of Minister Finley announced at the ground-breaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction of "Anselma House" that the Goverment of Canada, through CMHC provided $500,000 to Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region through the Shelter Enhancement Program and $10,000 in Seed Funding.
